what others are saying

Reading Be Quiet & Say Something raced by like an all too short visit with a dear one.  Jessi scoots up beside you on the couch as a friend with tea in her hand, love in her heart and the Truth in her voice. And that Truth is always Jesus. Jesus creating you, just as you are and as He wanted. Jesus calling you up or out or forward. Whether your season is one of furious paddling but getting nowhere, of feeling stuck or discouraged or overwhelmed . Maybe even one of feeling a little too comfortable where you stand. This book plants the seed of the Word and He intends that it will grow. And to that I say Amen.

Be quiet and say something was one of those books that fell into my lap in the most perfect timing. It rocked me down to my soul, feed my heart, and challenged me to really look at where I was in life. It pushed me not only to find my voice as a blogger, a mom, a wife, but as a daughter of God. This book will be my go to book for years to come.

Be Quiet and Say Something was a gentle, hearty reminder of these truths: God has something vitally important going on in all of our lives, and to work with Him on that we must bring our spirit into quiet, adoring humility before Him so that His Spirit can be the loud, bold, glory-grabbing one. That's the only way it's really going to work, and we can do it by His grace.

be quiet & say something was an encouragement to see that, truly, God has given me much influence right where i am {with my husband, kiddo, family, neighbors & gifts} and also a sweet challenge to be wise with that influence and allow Jesus to make much of himself through my words, my life and the specific personality he has given to me.
